Why wear Dog Socky anti-slip dog socks?

You notice it right away. That slight hesitation before the tiled floor or the parquet. Your dog looks, hesitates for a moment, and then carefully takes a first step. He used to do that without thinking.

From about 7 years of age, many dogs start to have more difficulty with slippery floors and stairs. Getting up becomes harder, and their steps become smaller. With arthritis or hip dysplasia, every misstep can put extra pressure on muscles and joints.

Dog Socky anti-slip dog socks give your dog extra grip and stability on tiles, parquet, and laminate. This allows him to move with more confidence again and remain active for longer.

And when your big friend walks into the kitchen again for the first time without hesitation, you'll notice the difference yourself.

Dog Socky helps with sensitive or painful paws, excessive paw licking, and recovery after an operation.

These four-legged friends beat you to it

How do you put the socks on?

Ready for extra confidence, stability, and fun in 3 easy steps.

Stap 1: Rol de sok op – houd de opening wijd zodat de poot er gemakkelijk in glijdt

Roll up the sock

Roll the sock halfway down so you can easily slide it over the paw. Keep the top wide open.

Stap 1: Rol de sok op en schuif over de poot

Slide over the paw

Slide the paw into the sock and gently pull the sock up so that the entire paw is in the foot section.

Stap 2: Trek de sok omhoog tot aan de enkel

Fasten the Velcro

Fasten the elastic velcro strap. Check that the sock isn't too tight: one finger should easily fit underneath.

What do our customers say?

“Luca is taking the stairs himself again”

Luca is a 14-year-old Polish Mountain Dog and weighs 41 kg. In recent years, he has increasingly suffered from age-related ailments: stiff joints, slipping on the floor, and the stairs had been an insurmountable obstacle for months. We helped him up and down every time, but that's no longer ideal for our age either. Friends had been using Dog Socky for a while and recommended it. The first two days were clearly a period of adjustment: he kept trying to take the socks off himself and walked a bit strangely. But on day three, something seemed to click. He started walking more and regaining confidence with every step. Yesterday morning, we heard him coming up the stairs. By himself. Without us having helped him. He was standing at the bedroom door. We know that socks are not a miracle cure and that he is 14. But the anti-slip gives him confidence in his own body, and we see a bit of the old playful Luca returning.

“Good for short-term indoor use, but not super durable”

We bought these socks for our golden retriever after having our wooden floor sanded. The contractor recommended the dog wear socks for at least 30 days while the coating cured. After four weeks of daily use, we know enough. They are easy to put on. The material stretches, the nubs are all around so there's no "right side," and the elastic hook-and-loop strap is sewn to the sock itself. So no loose strip to lose. We had previously tried molded dog boots and found that our dog's hind paws are a full size smaller than her front paws. Those always fell off. That's not an issue here. The hook-and-loop strap is also directed inwards, so it sticks to the sock instead of the carpet. With other brands, the sock comes off as soon as the dog lies down. The grip on the smooth floor was good and the nails didn't touch the wood. But the socks are fragile. The bottom part wears out quickly, even with purely indoor use. The dog's nails poke holes from the inside, even after trimming. If the dog gnaws on her paw for a moment, which dogs do, the sock is ruined before it's truly worn out. We spray bitter apple spray on the socks, but you need a substantial amount for four socks each time. The packaging also states that they should not be used outdoors. Our dog briefly escaped from the garage and walked on the asphalt for a few minutes. Two socks were completely destroyed before I caught her. In four weeks, we went through 3 sets. For a one-time period of 30 days, that's manageable, but if you plan to have your dog wear socks structurally, this quickly becomes unaffordable. For short-term indoor use, they do more than they promise. For longer outdoor use, I would look further.

“Approved by my Welsh Terrier”

Purchased for my almost 15-year-old Welsh Terrier. We have polished concrete floors at home and noticed he was starting to slip a bit and move less confidently. I expected him to hate the socks, as he tolerates no clothing I try to put on him, but he has absolutely no problem with them. He literally ran through the entire house to try them out, corners and all. Size M fits perfectly.

“Excellent customer service”

My 10-year-old Golden Retriever has arthritis and constantly slips on the parquet floor in the living room. We initially ordered size M, but they were too tight around his hind legs. Customer service sent us a size larger free of charge.<!--en--><!--en-->Indoors, they are perfect. But after 2 weeks of romping around in the woods outside, we saw the first signs of wear on the 2 socks on his hind legs. For indoor use, they are great, but for rough outdoor use, they probably won't last forever. Hopefully, they will hold up for a while longer.

“Good quality socks with perfect grip on slippery floors.”

The best dog socks ever. My 12-year-old husky finally has grip on the slick floor without the risk of slipping. When he wears them, I no longer have to worry about him falling.

“My dog loves these socks”

Top product! I can't believe I didn't find this sooner. I have a 13-year-old senior dog with arthritis who slips on the wooden floor when he plays. As soon as I put these socks on, he seemed like a new dog. They stay on well and he seems much more confident chasing his toys without slipping. Safer for him. He lets me put them on without a problem. 4 stars, because the top is quite tight, which makes putting them on a bit more difficult. Otherwise, a great product.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you want to know, short and clear.

Each pack of Dog Socky contains 4 socks, 1 for each paw.

Tip: if you order 2 packs, you can alternate them. While one set is drying after washing, the other is ready for use.

Use the size calculator, and you'll know for sure in 30 seconds. Choose your breed, enter the weight, and you'll instantly get the right size.

Prefer to measure yourself? Measure the width of the paw print while your dog is standing, from side to side at the widest point.

Not with Dog Socky. Two mechanisms keep the sock in place: the elastic Velcro strap that you adjust yourself and the double-sided silicone grip. Does the sock twist while walking? You still have grip, because the top also has the anti-slip pattern. With the correct size, the socks will easily stay in place for 8 hours.

Completely normal. Dogs guide themselves via their paw pads. As soon as that feedback comes in differently, they lift their paws a little higher or stand still for a moment. Most dogs adapt within 3 to 7 wearing sessions.

Combine putting them on with a walk or a game so they are distracted.

They are made for dogs that slip on smooth floors: parquet, tiles, laminate, and vinyl. Particularly effective for older dogs with arthritis or hip dysplasia, dogs in rehabilitation, and dogs that need extra paw protection after surgery or due to excessive licking.

Also useful for healthy large breeds that slip easily on smooth floors due to their weight.

Yes. Older dogs with hip dysplasia or arthritis slip on smooth floors with every step, which puts extra strain on their joints and worsens the pain. The grip of Dog Socky reduces this slipping and the compensatory movement that comes with it.

It is not a medical treatment and does not replace a vet or physical therapist, but as a daily comfort improvement at home, it is one of the most practical aids you can use. Many vets recommend anti-slip socks as a first step.

Most dogs get used to the socks after 3 to 7 wearings. Start with 5 minutes a day combined with rewards and gradually build up. Anxious, insecure and stress-sensitive dogs sometimes need 2 to 3 weeks.

Never take the socks off in response to protest. Calmly take them off after the planned time.

Yes. Send an email to info@dogsocky.com and we will arrange a free exchange, provided the socks are unworn and in their original packaging.

Undecided before purchasing? Send a photo of the measured paw print and we will help you choose the right size.
